In 2017, my life took an unexpected turn when my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. At that time, I was juggling a sales job downtown and had just welcomed my third child. Driven by an impulsive yet heartfelt decision, I left my job to prepare for the care my mother would eventually need. This led me to a traditional home care agency, where I immersed myself in learning the ins and outs of caregiving.
To my surprise, I found my true calling in this work. Meeting my first client, Gladys, was a transformative experience, one of those life-changing moments you often hear about. In that instant, I knew I was destined to dedicate my life to caring for seniors.
After gaining invaluable experience in traditional home care, I decided to start SarahCares three years ago. Our mission at SarahCares is to enhance the lives of seniors, ensuring they live happier, fuller lives while providing their families with peace of mind. Each time we enter a client’s home, we strive to deliver the same level of care I want for my own mother. We pride ourselves on being "professional best friends," arriving in casual attire, addressing our clients by their first names, and offering meaningful engagement throughout each visit.
I like to call us "professional best friends." We treat each and every client with care and love. We build genuine connections with our clients. We are there to grow and change with our clients as their needs and abilities change and grow. Not only are we there to help with day to day activities but we are there to socialize and engage with them.
